Haji S. THE ARMENIAN QUESTION 48a Extent of the Armenian Catastrophe In regard to the number of Armenians in Turkey and theextent of the disaster that hks overtaken them, the best in-formation at present available is found in Bulletin No. 5,issued May 24, 1916, by the American Committee for Ar-menian and Syrian Relief, 70 Fifth Ave., New York, of whichRev. James L. Barton, D.D., is Chairman, Mr. Samuel T.Dutton, Secretary, and Mr. Charles R. Crane, Treasurer. This Committee is in the best position to learn the factsand to do all that can be done to aid the survivors, and de-serves the most generous support of the American public.Up to the middle of July, 1916, the Committee had receivedcontributions amounting to One Million Dollars, of which$330,000.00 was contributed by the Rockefeller Foundation.
