English: The Scottish National Gallery (formerly known as the National Gallery of Scotland) is an art gallery on The Mound, Edinburgh, Scotland. Opened in 1859, it is Scotland's national gallery and is owned by National Galleries of Scotland, a public body that also owns the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art and the Scottish National Portrait Gallery. It is often confused with the neighbouring Royal Scottish Academy (RSA), a similar building which is located next to the Scottish National Gallery.
